Acetic Acid Glacial
Product Overview & Quality
- Product Name: Acetic Acid Glacial
- Grade: Analytical Reagent (AR Grade), featuring high purity ( 99.8%). Packed in a PE Bottle (2.5 L) for enhanced safety and durability during transport.
- Physical Properties: Clear, colorless liquid with a strong, pungent vinegar-like odor. It solidifies into ice-like crystals at temperatures below 16-17 °C
- Key Use: Used as a solvent for non-aqueous titrations, in the preparation of buffers, and as a key reagent in organic synthesis and analytical chemistry.
Safety & Hazards (Critical)
- Classification: Flammable Liquid (Category 3) and Highly Corrosive (Category 1). Causes severe skin burns and serious eye damage.
- Health Risks: Vapors are highly irritating to the eyes and respiratory system. Prolonged exposure can cause permanent tissue damage.
- Chemical Warning: Incompatible with strong oxidizers (like Nitric Acid) and strong bases. Mixing with these can cause violent reactions or explosions.
- First Aid Measures: Immediately flush affected eyes or skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If inhaled, move the victim to fresh air and seek medical attention immediately.
Handling & Storage
- Storage: Store in a cool, well-ventilated area. Maintain storage temperature above 17 °C to avoid freezing (which could potentially crack the container). Keep away from heat, sparks, and ignition sources.
- Precautions: Full PPE is mandatory, including chemical-resistant gloves and safety goggles. Use strictly within a fume hood due to its corrosive and pungent vapors.
